Rahaf Hares (00:44)
Hi, welcome back to the Really Rahaf podcast. If you're on Spotify or YouTube right now, you can see my new hat. Mike got me this hat for my birthday and I'm just so obsessed with it. So I got this hat on and I got my headphones right on top of it. And I am filming to you from a Sunday, days before Tuesday, our episode. And that's what we're going to be talking about today is how my batching process is on a week to week basis, what my batching strategy is and how it's shifted since I started doing this podcast.
and shifting to a more long form strategy as opposed to the Instagram TikTok, like what that's shifted into. So I'm so excited to talk to you about that today. If you were at my birthday in person, sending me messages wherever you are, thank you so much for tuning into this podcast. The five star reviews. Thank you so much for everything that you poured in. The party was amazing. We were at Venice. had the closest people in my orbit, people I haven't met before, clients I've had for
almost two years that I met for the first time. It was a beautiful, beautiful, eclectic group of people. Students I've had, students that I'm with, students I'm in the PhD program with and students that I was a professor for. So we had seriously such an eclectic group and woke up yesterday and I looked out the window and I felt that season shift.
If you're a California transplant, you probably know exactly what I'm talking about. If you live in a place with seasons, you probably know exactly what I'm talking but this feeling when that season shifts, it feels very apocalyptic for me. And I think it's because the majority of the trauma that I've had happened during this season. And since I grew up in Columbus, this season was almost all the time, this like gloominess where you just...
feel the sensoriness of the memories coming in because our emotional memories are heightened. So when our environment shifts and it reminds us of even one of the senses that take us back to that time of the memory, it almost like it takes over our body. So that's what I've been feeling these past few days. And I've found a way to kind of enjoy it and to stay above it without falling into the hole. Because in the past, when the season would shift, I would want to just
just melt in it, just go into bed, binge watch for literally hours. And I still love to do that, but I would make myself feel horrible while doing it. So the shift now is when I feel this feeling and I think of the memories, I'm just like, okay, I'm just gonna be in the niceness of this feeling because I get to have new memories with this feeling now.
So I've been just so enjoying the feeling that I've been playing American idiot because I played green day a lot during this time. And it's weird because I love it.
after this podcast launch, I've now gotten from five desktops on my computer to three, because also I just had my four day immersion in my PhD program. It's a hybrid model. So we do four days, 12 hours a day, practically twice a semester. So I just got done with that marathon. We're just an hour virtual every week now. And my podcast launch is...
is just settling in. So things are feeling very still in a good way because this means this is the energy of creation for me because it's going to be a very, very, very big November. And I'll be sharing more with you about it in a future episode. But for now and for here, I wanted to share with you that my intention was to do this episode yesterday on Saturday because this is a new batching strategy for me. There's a lot of unknowns, a lot of unknowns. I've
had to learn a new platform, Riverside, to film this podcast and the amount of tech difficulties that I've been learning and not letting myself get mad at and just coming back to curiosity over and over and over again. It has been, it's been a test, let me just tell you. So yesterday I did my morning walk. I did my gratitude. I always find three things I'm grateful for every morning.
I ask myself four questions and these four questions really prime my energy for the day, prime my intention for the day. They prime my brainstem to receive what I want for the day. And it's who do you want to be today? How do you want to feel today? What do you want to give today? What do you want to receive today? And I literally manifest my entire day just by answering those questions. And I can also get into the neuroscience about that in a future episode, but
I came back, turned on my computer, got ready to film, didn't even do a take. I was like, nope, this doesn't feel right. beelined straight to Malibu and I let myself be even more still with the water, me and Chippy. And I'm realizing as I figure out...
how I want this to feel because I still don't know how I want this to feel. Like my initial intention was like, I want this to be one full flow, no cuts. Then that led to perfectionism. So that first episode was a lot of takes because that was what I thought I wanted. And then I realized that is what I want, but that also doesn't mean it has to be perfection. I get to cut things if I pause, if I want to cut something out, like I have the freedom to do that. So.
It's releasing the inner voice that used to come up in the beginning of my business, which was, has to be perfect. What if you don't capture everything? What if you forget to say it? Like all those voices came coming back because that's my version of the perfectionism voice. So I had to be humbled a lot on this podcast journey these past couple of weeks of being able to let go of a lot of things, being able to say, you know what? It's fine if I cut something, it's fine if something doesn't sync up.
And but what happened yesterday though, so I went there, I came back, got my groundedness from the beach and I got ready to record. I'm like, yes, I'm ready now. I'm ready. We got this literally like five minutes within walking the door. I was so hyped and I start recording and I record the whole episode, one full flow only to find out there was a problem with my mic and
I'm still like getting used to how buttery this audio sounds. So when I hear something that's subpar in my mind, I still can't tell if that's the quality. But I listened to like a previous episode I put out, I was like, oh no, no, no, there's something wrong here. So I realized, okay, well I just got this boom arm. If you can see me on the video, I got this amazing boom arm for my mic and
I was like, okay, maybe it's too far away. Maybe I need to change the setting. It's now sideways instead of sitting upright. So I was trying to deduce all the variables to figure out what was wrong. And I'm like, okay, I fixed it. You know, I changed the settings. I even did a couple of test takes. I'm like, okay, I think that sounds good. So I recorded another episode in a full flow. I played it back and something was still really badly messed up.
So I had recorded this episode twice in a row to completion to realize that something was still wrong. But the good news is, is I finally figured out what was wrong. My headphones were not connected because my Bluetooth was turned off on my laptop because Mike and I were messing with it the night before trying to hook up a mouse to it. And I never turned the Bluetooth back on. So I didn't even realize, but now I know that
First off, I gave myself an extra day to batch on Saturday so that I could account for this because I didn't want to push through because The whole point of this podcast is that you're getting me really Rahaf, like the rawness of me without the scarcity and the pressure to show up in here. You know, I made this for space. So I let myself have the whole rest of the day and night.
after filming those two episodes to be okay with the progress that I did. Ooh, that was rough. Because once again, it's the perfectionism coming up so hard with all of these unknowns. And I'm like, you know what? I just learned something new. I learned a tech thing. I get to teach this to clients that I have curiosity and gratitude for all the mistakes that I'm learning so that I get to help other people not make those same mistakes. That's my shift usually. That's what helps me through tech.
So I woke up today, I was like, all right, it's Sunday. It's our favorite day of the week. This is when we take Chippy, my dog, to the farmer's market, which is a four minute walk from my house. And I drop him off because there's a doggy daycare there. So I got to drop him off and just see him happy playing around with all of his friends. And I walked back and it's still that gloominess feeling. I see the sun peeking out and I was like, we're ready now. Turned on my lap.
top and took me a few takes, but I made sure this time a real test recording that the mic is in fact all good headphones connected. And I share that with you because this pairs with what we're going to talk about today, the batching strategy. This is my batching strategy. My goal is to batch all of my content on one day so that I can be free the entire week. So
Some of you might have a batching strategy. Some of you might be curious to hear what I have to say about it. And some of you are probably like, Rahaf batching what? So I've been batching my content for several months now and it has allowed me to take working in the business hours down to about eight to 11.
That's my baseline. Everything else I do is working on the business. Stuff I want to work on creating new offers, putting more systems in tracking more KPIs, training Mike on something deeper. Like these are all things I get to work on my business for, because I know the juicy spot of how many hours I want to work in my business. So it's like meal prepping every Tuesday. Mike and I go to the farmer's market.
We got our veggies for the week, we get our fruits, we've been paying attention to the amount of fiber we're getting, our serving sizes, and then we go to Erewhon and then we get our other whole ingredients, and we batch the most delicious, high-quality meals for seven days. There is absolutely no way that we could prepare a high-quality meal the moment of, multiple times a day, and still have the rest of our life to live. Think about it.
We're making these like Asian dishes lately, like Asian ingredients and the rice and sesame chicken. So it takes a long time to make that meal. So imagine us making that meal with different types of ingredients and flavors throughout the rest of the day. We wouldn't have time to skate. We wouldn't have time. I wouldn't have time to study for my homework and be a PhD student. Like there's absolutely no way. So what we do is we make all of our meals.
on one day so that we're set up for success the rest of the week and we're not thinking or feeling pressured to slip up and eat out or to eat like the oils they make. Like it's all we care about our brain. I care about my energy. I would not be able to flow with you the way that I'm doing right now if it was for any brain fog. So it's important to us. It's a value and content batching is the same exact way. We underestimate how much the
pings of what am going to post today? my God, I didn't post today. Over and over pinging in your mind when you're trying to live your life and be free. It's taking you out of the present moment. it's putting guilt inside your orbits, scarcity. Of course we have trouble manifesting soul clients when we're on this frequency. So when we can look out for our future self,
and have a solid strategy that we can see a roadmap of so we're not just throwing it together the day of, like just hitting the drive through metaphorically. It's like, no, we get to have that sesame chicken meal every time we want throughout the day without having to prepare it the moment of, without the guilt of eating out, without the guilt of throwing the content together.
So if you want to look at your week and make sure that you're hitting all your content pillars, making that relational content, making that storytelling, talk to camera, making that social proof authority content, everything in between, we need a roadmap for the week. Especially if you want to be posting two, three times a day, imagine making a fresh post from scratch, fresh ingredients the day of. ⁓ it's exhausting. I know that because I've done it. And that's not to say we're expecting perfection every week, batch every week, but
We do know what it feels like when we don't do it. After we do it one time, we know that feeling to just hit the post button, caption everything done. I mean, you can't go back and everyone's different. Maybe batching for you is one day, but anything to get you into the feeling of abundance for your baseline, the day that you wake up the next day to know that, Hey, I unlocked the metaphorical brick and mortar door to my business because that's what posting your content is.
It's showing up for your business. It's opening that virtual door and it's bringing in clients, customers that get to work with you, but they will never see you. They will never reach you if we don't show up. So batching holds me accountable for that. It keeps me disciplined for the week to know that this is how I show up. I can put my head down at night and know that I showed up for my business. So to have that feeling as your baseline,
So much comes from that. So much authenticity, so much groundedness. When you're showing up in your Instagram story, it just feels better. It feels like you're not in scarcity. It feels like you looked out for yourself and that builds that trust with yourself. You need that trust the more that you grow. You need that discipline with yourself to know that you can show up. That was the one reason that I waited to launch a podcast. And it wasn't even like waiting, right? It's like, I don't like the word waiting. It's the energy of waiting. It's like, I knew that.
the version of me that needed to be unlocked was the version of me that trusted myself to show up consistently. And I was tested with that these past couple of days of knowing I trust myself to show up, put out episodes every Tuesday, whatever way that looks like, I will show up for it. And I will also do it from a place of groundedness and abundance. That's the level of trust that is like, I unlock that level of trust to be this person that you're listening to right now.
So keep in mind, batching, it's gonna stretch you. It's gonna unlock a version of you that's gonna feel so empowered with the way that you show up for your business. So I wanna share with you what my batching strategy looks like, but I also want you to know that yours won't look like mine. So use the Bruce Lee approach. Grab what resonates, drop what doesn't. Because what works for me works because it's me. So you get to repurpose and grab the pieces, try them on.
I'm always experimenting. I'm always, always experimenting. I'm sharing with you the path of highest conversion, but don't ever use me as an example of, okay, I'm gonna go look at Rahaf's page and do what she's doing. No, because I'm already testing something out, doing A-B testing, testing headlines like this is my magic, this is what I love to do. So I'm always in experimentation mode because I'm also always in play because when you're experimenting, you're in this exciting
place of joy all the time. Your inner child gets to come out and that's what I love to be in when I create. So give that a shot too. Just see your business as play and watch how much it shifts. So my batching strategy is I typically batch one day a week for the entire day, six days. Sunday, I typically post a slider.
So notice I'm saying typically this could literally change next week because I'm experimenting this new strategy this week. So I'm going to see how it feels next week. So keep tuning in. I'm going to share with you the behind the scenes. Like this is why I love to have this space to talk to you. So every week I'm doing Saturday now, because if something happens like it did yesterday where I want to not push through because I know this is something that I don't want to push through right now, I'm going to at least give myself an abundance of time. So instead of batching on Sundays, I want to start batching on Saturday.
So on Saturday, I'm going to film one podcast episode and one YouTube video. YouTube is going to be my original content now. So I'm shifting to long form. I want space. I want to be able to give you like nuggets and teaching moments. So I will be putting out a new YouTube video every week And a new podcast video every Tuesday. And you'll also see my podcast video on YouTube as well.
that's in addition to the original content I will also be creating. So one YouTube, one podcast, and I want to be posting 12 YouTube clips for the entire week, the six days. So two posts a day, I'm gonna grab a magic clip, which is why I love Riverside. There's an AI tool in here that takes the video that I'm filming right now, and I'm gonna fill my YouTube in here as well. It makes magic clips.
So there's an AI tool that snips them up into little snippets. And then I take those to my Instagram and TikTok. So I'll get 12 magic clips of my YouTube video. And then I will put those twice a day with a freebie call to action. So I'll be giving out either my luxury launch lab masterclass, my reframe guide, or my Bloom high ticket training video. These are all free. So I put those as my call to action Instagram and TikTok.
They lead to opt-ins, which lead to people on my email list, which lead to my email strategy that I also batch. So I will be batching four emails for the week and I will be hitting four different pillars. want to make sure that I get an all encompassing vision of who I am in my emails. Emails are very intimate. Emails alone got me $20,000 worth of sales in August. Do not underestimate emails. I love emails. They're your most intimate audience.
And I get to just pour my heart out. know, it was my, it was very similar to me, like this podcast where I just had more space. so in my email for the vision, one testimonial slash client story leading to an offer or freebie, a relational freedom value storytelling email that leads to a podcast episode.
a teaching story, something I want to share that leads to a YouTube video and a value stacked email that leads to a freebie or offer. So I'm all the different pillars of how someone gets to see me to warm them up in the trust funnel. They came from an Instagram opt-in, a freebie call to action there, and they get warmed up in emails. So don't underestimate the power of what having an email list can do for your business.
And from there, I have six podcast clips for the week. So I'm going to be posting three times a day, two YouTube clips, one podcast magic clip. So this podcast I'm talking to you will also have some snippets that I will put on Instagram and TikTok once a day. So my goal is to push my freebie because we reverse engineered how many freebie opt-ins we need to hit $100K months. So when you make it all a math and matter of fact,
You know exactly what you need to hit and how much to batch to get those numbers. So that's the beauty of how you can make your coaching business predictable, where you're not just aimlessly posting, no strategy and just going into each week blind. So I love to bring predictability in my business. I love to help my clients bring predictability in their business because at the end of the day, we come back to presence and freedom and feeling free to be able to let our intuition come in.
And that means not being in any energy of scarcity, time, energy, or money. So that's what this freedom-based back end systems, automations, business model gets to give you. So that is my current batching strategy. Posting three times a day, one podcast, one YouTube, and then also doing more relational videos, putting edits together behind the scenes, capturing that because I love to like show my meetings with Mike.
And that will also be something that I sprinkle throughout the week as well. So that is my personal high conversion for the week. And also super okay with it not turning out that way and making shifts and pivots as I go. And that's the mindset we want to go with anything new that we bring in any new strategy, any new, anything is to see it with curiosity and open to shifting pivoting. And I started out this episode taking you through
the takes that I went through to film this episode with you. And honestly, if it wasn't for that, I wouldn't have had the best take this here right now. So it's also trusting something bigger than yourself that this was the take that was meant to happen. This one to share with you and all those things happened to allow this to happen. for you too. So keep in mind that even when we don't know why something is happening and we feel so frustrated in the moment, believe that there's something bigger.
happening for you and you get to have choice in the way that you respond because your response is what's going to open those doors. And it opened up this door with me for you today. Happy Tuesday. I am so grateful that I get to be here with you another week.
So if you don't already follow me on Instagram, you get to see the snippets before they happen and you get to see the snippets from the week before as
I'm also gonna drop in my luxury launch lab free masterclass so that I can show you the A to Z of how you can build a coaching business with the backend systems that I'm referring to so that you can have that extra time and not have to manually be writing emails all the time anymore. So I share with you the nervous system, the luxury frequency, the high ticket offer building and.
how to put in more of those backend systems. So check out the show notes.
Tag me while you're listening to this episode and I will re-story you and I love you. I'll see you next week.
