not too long ago, i was literally serving tables for $12 an hour wondering there is no fucking way this is what the rest of my life is supposed to look like.
i remember watching the clock during shifts. asking for time off and hoping someone approved it. missing things i actually wanted to be at. working my ass off knowing that no matter how hard i worked that night, my paycheck was pretty much gonna look the fucking same.
and the craziest part?
i thought that was just adulthood.
